With the 2015/2016 season well underway and the January transfer window drawing ever close, clubs and players alike have started making plans for the winter transfer window.
According to popular Italian media outlet TMW, Arsenal are facing a battle with AC Milan to sign Bayer Leverkusen midfielder Hakan Calhanoglu.
There have also been earlier reports that fellow Premier League rivals Manchester United are preparing a mega bid of €40million to prize Calhanoglu away from the Bundesliga in January.
Tuttosport claims the 21-year-old became Milan’s top target after a meeting between manager Sinisa Mihajlovic and chief executive Adriano Galliani.
The former Hamburg star scored the highest number of free-kicks in the top five leagues in Europe last season and has been heavily linked with Arsenal.
The Turkish International has scored five goals and assisted one in 11 appearances for Leverkusen this season.
