Juventus boss Massimiliano Allegri has privately indicated to his close friends that he wants to join Arsenal.
Reports are claiming that Allegri is one of the names on Arsenal’s short list to replace Arsene Wenger if the French man decides to step down at the end of the season.
And now Calcio Mercato [via Tribal Football] are claiming the Italian is open to a move to North London.
According to the report, the Juventus manager has told his close friends that he is ready to leave Turin. He is unhappy with how the club handled the row between himself and Leonardo Bonucci and feels the club didn’t defend him enough.
However, he remains focused on doing well with Juve until the end of the season.
Allegri has established himself as one of Europe’s best managers in Turin and his good works has been recognized around Europe that he was recently linked with Barcelona but the 49 year old will prefer to replace Arsene Wenger at the Emirates.
Arsenal have always defended Wenger even though he has failed to deliver the Premier League title in the last decade. Some Gooners have turned against the manager but the club’s unwavering support for its manager could be what is attracting Allegri.
However, his chances of moving to the Emirates this summer will depend on what Wenger’s decision. Arsenal’s priority remains to keep its manager and Allegri will only get the chance to come here if the French man decides to step down.
