In what will surely be a massive boost to everyone, Kylian Mbappe says he is “not afraid” to leave Monaco, with Arsenal, Real Madrid, PSG, Chelsea and the Manchester clubs all interested in his signature.
Mbappe is one of the biggest names supposedly available in the summer transfer window and Wenger reportedly has a secret plan to beat Madrid to his signature.
Monaco wants a reported £104million for Mbappe, with only and Real and Arsenal reportedly coming close to meeting their demand.
And the player said he will consider his future after representing France in upcoming games against Paraguay, Sweden and England.
“I am focused on the national team above all.
“There is an awful lot of time ahead to think about all that. There are three important matches coming up, I will take stock after.
“Why would I play less? [If he moved away from Monaco]. I will have the time to think about all that, but no, I am not afraid of leaving.”
The youngster ended his comment by saying he’s not afraid to move to another club this summer which will come as a boost to interested club.
Wenger recently tabled a monster £87m bid to Monaco for his signature, with Madrid the only club offering a little more.
Meanwhile, other reports are claiming Wenger will not back down on his pursuit of the star and will throw in a large chunk of his transfer warchest to sign the teenager, utitlising his French connections as well to make sure he beats Madrid to his signature this summer.
Gooners, this is the first time Wenger is really showing his intent at splashing the cash on a player. Do you think the boss is right to go after Mbappe (a teenager) with so much cash, or should the boss invest that amount on other proven European strikers, take Aubameyang for an example?
