Arsene Wenger is reportedly keen on bolstering his side in the January transfer window for the second half of the 2015/2016 season.
Arsenal are set to table an offer for the capture of highly rated versatile Chelsea defender Ola Aina. Manager Arsene Wenger is keen on balancing his squad for the remainder of what is expected to be a successful campaign.
The imminent departure of the out of favour Mathieu Debuchy will leave the Gunners very light at right back and that understandably worries Wenger. When the Frenchman departs coupled with Carl Jenkinson being on loan at West Ham, Hector Bellerin would be the only out and out right back in the senior squad.
Though Callum Chambers can occasionally fill in at right back, Wenger prefers to play him through the middle be it in defence or in midfield. It is understood that it is Debuchy’s desperation to leave the Emirates this winter that is forcing Wenger to bid for Aina this window, a player Wenger hoped to land on a free in the summer, according to the metro.
Aina, 19, featured in every round of Chelsea’s under-19s’ successful UEFA Youth League campaign last season and was included in Jose Mourinho’s pre-season tour to the US ahead of this term but he is yet to make his debut for the Blues
