AS Roma have decided not to sign Arsenal goalkeeper Wojciech Szczesny on a permanent deal when his loan spell expires at the end of the current season, according to reports.
The Goalkeeper who joined Roma on loan at the beginning of the season has been superb for the Serie A outfit. Despite his series of superb performances on the pitch, his off the pitch behaviour sometimes have raised eyebrows.
According to football insider via the Daily Star, AS Roma have decided against signing the Poland international permanently.
The Italian giants have reportedly agreed to sign Brazilian goalkeeper Allison who currently plays for Internancional in Brazil.
Roma believed they had an option to extend Szczesny’s stay in Italy but decided against activating the option and instead turned their attentions to Allison.
Szczesny is now expected to return to the Emirates this summer. But the 25 year old isn’t keen on playing back up to Petr Cech who joined the club last summer. Liverpool have been alerted by this information and are considering a double swoop for the Keeper and Oxlade Chamberlain in a combined £40m deal. Szczesny alone is valued in the region of £10m.
The Poland international has featured 34 times for the Serie A side this summer conceding 44 goal in the process.
