Corinthian club Deputy Director Eduardo Ferreira has confirmed that Arsenal and Manchester United transfer target Alexandre Pato will be allowed to leave the club in the January transfer window but only if a club comes with the right amount in the region of €25M (£18.6M).
According to daily express, United made an attempt to sign the Brazilian forward on transfer deadline day.
The 26 years old is an intelligent player with an eye for goal and was a menace in the colours of AC Milan before his stint was hampered by series of nagging injuries. A player in the calibre of Pato would be a bargain for £18.6M for United or Arsenal.
For the red devils as it has been evident in the premier league, South American players don’t get to their rhythm while playing for United apart from Carlos Tevez and Javier Hernandez. The likes of Juan sebastian Veron was flying high when United signed him on,only for him to never get into gear. The likes of Diego Forlan, Kleberson, Anderson,Gabriel Heinz,Rafael and Fabio Da Silva etc all could not cope with the pace and physical nature of the premier league.
As for the Arsenal, aside for Gilberto Silver no south American star has been able to survive the demanding nature of the premier league for the Gunners. The like of Edu, Eduardo, Carlos Vela, Denilson, Julio Baptista, Andre Santos to mention a few.
As tempting as the offer is, its better both clubs look else where for other strikers as Pato consistent injury problems will only get worst if he start plying his trade in the premier league, but he will spend most of his time on the treatment table
