FC Barcelona have not giving up on signing Hector Bellerin, according to reports.
The Catalan giants explored the possibility of signing the defender in the just concluded summer transfer window but couldn’t do a deal as Arsenal were reluctant to sell the defender.
According to Spanish Publication Sport via the Daily Star, Barcelona are still keen on signing Bellerin and will return for his services in the future.
The defender left the Camp Nou for the Emirates when he was sixteen and the Spanish club are keen to bring him back.
Barcelona’s manager Luis Enrique and the club’s technical secretary Roberto Fernandez has made signing Bellerin their top priority.
The full-back has been a key part of Arsenal squad since making his debut in 2013, he made 36 league appearances last season and helped the club to a second place finish.
Bellerin has already stated he is happy at Arsenal but Barcelona will not give up and will continue to push for the Spaniard’s signature.
The catalan giants did the same with ex Gunner Cesc Fabregas who also left their academy for the Emirates. They are hoping to be successful with Bellerin again but they are expected to face a bigger resistance this time around as Arsenal are in a better position to keep hold of their best players now.
Arsenal are also looking to offer the defender on a new contract and that could end Barcelona’s hope of signing him.
