Arsene Wenger is reportedly keen on bolstering his side in the January transfer window for the second half of the 2015/2016 season.
Arsenal have received a boost in their quest to sign newly crowned African player of the year, Pierre Emerick Aubameyang from Borussia Dortmund in the January transfer window, according to reports. But the Gunners would have to part with the sum of £60 Million for his services.
The Gunners have been strongly linked to the Gabonese attacker after his blistering start to the season for Borussia Dortmund as Arsenal boss is said to be a huge fan of the striker. Arsenal reportedly placed a bid of around £44.6 Million for the Bundesliga leading scorer but Daily mail says Dortmund could sell buy the price has to be around £60 Million; meaning the Gunners are still £15.6 Million short of the club’s evaluation for the super star.
Aubameyang is one of the most lethal strikers in Europe this season, notching 27 goals in 27 appearances already this term and this is just half way in the season. Arsene Wenger would have to make one of the biggest decisions in his coaching career if he is to sanction a move as huge as that amount for a single player or look elsewhere for cheaper options. The transfer window is still fresh and there could still be lots of twist and turn in the transfer saga.
