Monaco striker Kylian Mbappe would be interested in joining Arsenal, according to reports.

Wenger has reportedly earmarked the 18 year old as his priority target and is ready to table a world record bid to get his man.

The striker is in high demand this summer with Real Madrid and Pais Saint Germain also interested in his services.

Few days ago, reports claimed Arsenal are no longer confident of signing the striker because of Real’s interest but that seem not to be the case.

According to Le Parisien, Mbappe is very interested in moving to Arsenal because of Arsene Wenger.

Over the years, Wenger has built a good reputation working with young players and Mbappe feels working under the French tactician could be the best for his development.

“Wenger, he is a great,” a source said.

“If Mbappe were to sign for Arsenal tomorrow, it would be for him.

“He knows how to produce youngsters and especially former French international team forwards, Thierry Henry and Nicolas Anelka. Only playing in the Europa League is not an obstacle for him.”

However, the report also mentioned that should the striker move to the Emirates, Mbappe will see the move as a temporary one and a medium to prepare himself for the likes of Real Madrid.

“Kylian is currently thinking things over,” the source told the paper.

“Either he will go to a stepping-stone club, or directly to a great club.

“But his aim is very clear: to sign for one of the two biggest clubs in the world, they are Real Madrid or Barcelona for him, before reaching the age of 22.”

With the futures of Alexis Sanchez currently in doubt, the signing of Mbappe will send a strong signals to our rivals. However, we must be careful not to repeat the current Alexis Scenario with the teenager in the future since he only sees the Emirates as a stepping stone.
