Arsenal target Henry Onyekuru says he wants to be given assurances he will play regularly at his next club before leaving KAS Eupens.
The young striker took the Belgium league by storm this just concluded season, scoring 20 goals throughout the campaign.
His fine form has caught the attention of a host of Premier League clubs, including Arsenal.
The Gunners are currently discussing personal terms with Onyekuru representative, after activating the £6.8m release clause on his contract. The 20 year old now wants to get assurances he will play regularly before giving the go ahead to a move.
“The first and most important thing for a player is to get playing time,” Onyekuru told ESPN.
“I’m still young and I still have a long career to pursue but now I need to play.
“My agents are in talks with top clubs in the Premier League, Bundesliga, French league and others. If they accept our terms, then I’ll make a decision.
“It’s not just about going to a big club and sitting on the bench. It’s not good for me, or being loaned to a club where I won’t play or where I will struggle to play.
“The money can come later but for now, I just want to play to improve, not just to play for a big club.”
West Ham and Newcastle are also believed to be considering a move for the young striker. It remains to be seen whether Arsenal will be able to convince the player to join us despite the fact that he may not get so many first team chances here because of the quality in our squad.
