Arsenal legend Ian Wright has made a big claim about wantaway attacker Alexis Sanchez.
The Chilean is out of contract at the Emirates Stadium at the end of the season and it is thought the Gunners will cash in on him in the January transfer window.
Reports claims Manchester City are touted as a possible location for the 28-year-old who was keen on leaving the Emirate Stadium last summer.
However, Wright does not think he would get into Pep Guardiola’s starting line up.
One of the reasons of the failed move is that Guardiola refused to let Raheem Sterling move in the opposite direction.
Wright thinks under current form Sterling would even keep Sanchez out of the City squad altogether.
“He [Guardiola] gave him the call and said ‘I want you, you’re my man, I’m gonna work with you’,” Wright told BBC Radio 5 Live.
“Even when Arsenal were linked with the Sanchez and Sterling deal, he said ‘you are going nowhere’.”
“It’s an interesting one but I look at Sanchez and I don’t see how he gets into that team.
“I think he holds onto the ball too long.
“You look at Sterling now, his movement off the ball is incredible, his touch has got better.
“Look, people say he got fortunate with the goal against Huddersfield but he made that luck for himself because he kept running.”
