Borussia Dortmund striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang will only join Arsenal if he is to move to the Premier League, according to reports.
Aubameyang has established himself as one of Europe’s most prolific strikers at BVB and has been linked with a host of top clubs.
In the last three summer transfer windows, he has been heavily linked with a move to the Premier League, with Manchester City and Liverpool both believed to be admirers of the Gabonese.
But German publication Bild via Tribal Football claims Aubameyang will only play for one club if he moved to the Premier League.
Surprisingly, Arsenal is the only English club Aubameyang wants to play for.
The Gabonese international has never hidden his desire to complete a dream move to Real Madrid and news that he would only choose Arsenal in England despite the riches of the Manchester clubs will be good music to Gooners’ ears.
However, the report further acknowledged that Arsenal are unlikely to sign the striker this summer because of our failure to qualify for next season’s Champions League.
The lack of Champions League football was always going to make it difficult fo Arsenal to sign top players but with Wenger keen on signing a top striker, it wouldn’t be a bad idea if we make a move to sign Aubameyang. Who knows, he might just be tempted to join us to fire us back to the top.
The Gabonese ended last season as Bundesliga’s top scorer with 24 goals, beating Robert Lewandowski to the crown.
