Manchester United and Manchester City have been urged to make a move for Jack Wilshere when the summer transfer window opens.

Wilshere is currently on a season long  loan at AFC Bournemouth, where he has been impressive throughout the season.

However, his long term future at Arsenal is in doubt, his contract expires at the end of next season and talks over a new deal is yet to commence, which could see the midfielder leave if nothing is done before the transfer window opens.

And former Sunderland star Michael Gray believes both Manchester clubs should make attempt to sign the midfielder.

“Jack Wilshere is good enough to play in any of those top six sides,” Gray told talkSPORT, as quoted by The Express.

“If you want to buy English this summer, where else do you go?

“I think he’s the perfect fit for one of the Manchester sides.

“You’re buying a 25-year-old player, who had experience but still has his best years ahead of him. He’s still got another seven or eight years.

“I think he’d be at a decent price. If you have to go and pay £25m or £30m for Jack Wilshere, that’s still a bargain!”

No one can deny there’s uncertainty surrounding Wilshere’s future but Arsenal do want to keep him.

Offering him a new contract has been made difficult by the fact he is away on loan buy i’m more than certain that when he returns, his future would be resolved and he will sign a new deal with us

There is no chance a rival club would sign him, Gooners won’t be happy if it happens and I’m sure Wenger won’t want that either.
