French legend Jeanne Pierre Papin says Lyon midfielder Nabil Ferkir needs to move to a bigger club. The player admitted an ambition this season to follow fellow French team mate Anthony Martial to Manchester United, while his father prefer his son to play for Arsene Wenger’s Arsenal.
Nabil can play as a striker or on either side of the wings. He has made over 50 appearances for Olympique Lyon with over 18 goals to his name. Though from Algeria; he pledged his allegiance to France when he made his senior debut for the French National Side in 2015 in friendlies against Brazil and Denmark. Currently side-lined with a knee cruciate ligament injury which he picked up while playing for the French National side against Portugal and is side-lined for up to 6 months.
According to reports from Daily Express, Arsenal and Liverpool are keenly interested in the 22 years old attacker and have enquired about his availability last summer but the player signed a new 5 years deal with Lyon; thereby putting off any speculation of a potential move.
Now with Anthony Martial doing exploits at Manchester United, Papin is urging Nabil to follow suit and ply his trade away from Lyon; Papin stated that Lyon is not the same club that won the French title 7 times in a row.
