Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger is planning revamp of his squad following a disappointing campaign that saw them finish fifth in the Premier League and thereby missing out in the Champions League for next season.
According to reports, Arsenal have made enquiry about the availability of Bayer Leverkusen keeper Bernd Leno and winger Hakan Calhanoglu.
Leno, 25, has established himself as one of Germany’s top keepers and has won four caps for his country.
And Turkey international winger Calhanoglu, 23, has not played since February after receiving a four-month ban from FIFA.
The Gunners have already added Schalke 04 left-back Sead Kolasinac who joined the North London club on a free transfer
“I think this group of players is good enough to come back,” he said.
“They have learned a lot and they have gone through difficult periods this season and they have bounced back in a very strong way.
“I think that will help them, absolutely, next season.
“But first I think we have to keep 90 per cent of these players together and find one or two more who strengthen the group but we don’t need a lot. We don’t need many. But we need maybe top quality.”
