Arsenal forward Olivier Giroud has been warned by the France national team to seek regular first-team football elsewhere in the New Year.
Giroud, 31, has been a prominent figure for his National team recently, but his lack of regular football at club level could begin to hurt his World cup chances ahead of next year’s global showpiece in Russia.
The France international striker came close to departing the Emirates Stadium last summer transfer window, as per Canal Plus via Sky Sports that the Puskas recipient had an offer to join Everton.
Since then, there have not been any links involving the Frenchman, but his national team’s assistant coach Guy Stephan has claimed he and France head coach Didier Deschamps have been advising the Arsenal striker to consider leaving the London club.
The Gunners currently have forward Alexis Sanchez and German Mesut Ozil running out their Arsenal contracts next summer, so won’t want to let go of another experienced player and an important member of their squad at that.
While the striker, Giroud has mainly been a backup for much of last season, he continues to display his quality when called upon, netting five goals this campaign despite barely starting any matches.
