Everton are keeping tabs on two Arsenal stars as Ronald Koeman plans to revamp his squad this summer.
The Merseyside club is set to finish seventh and will feature in the Europa League next season and Koeman is keen on strengthening his squad to enable them cope with the demands of European football.
According to The Telegraph via The Daily Star, two players on Koeman’s wish list are Arsenal’s Theo Walcott and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain.
The Toffees are keen on signing some big names this summer and are exploring the possibility of signing either of the Gunners’ duo.
Both players couldn’t hold down a regular spot in Wenger’s starting xi this season and could well be tempted by a move.
Walcott featured regularly at the beginning of the season but Chamberlain began to feature more towards the end of the campaign after Wenger switched to a 3-4-2-1 formation before he was sidelined again by an injury.
Arsenal are reluctant to sell any of the two players but Everton wouldn’t give up without a fight considering Chamberlain has just little over a year left in his contract while Walcott’s contract expires in 2019.
Another reason for this rumour is the growing reports of Arsenal’s interest for Everton midfield star Ross Barkley, and they are suggestions that a player plus cash deal could be on the cards.
The duo are decent players and although they can be frustrating to watch at times, It would be a big mistake to let them leave.
For a team to challenge for titles, it’ll need quality in squad depth and that’s what both players can offer us next term if we keep them.
