Arsenal recently failed in its attempt to sign Kingsley Coman from Bayern Munich, according to reports in France.
According to a report in the Metro, Arsenal made an enquiry about signing Coman this summer but were turned down by Bayern.
Coman recently joined Bayern permanently, after his two year loan spell with them but it was thought that there would be a possibility of the Bravarians moving him on after they signed James Rodriguez but that impression was misguided as they had no intention of letting the French youngster leave.
Despite starting just 10 league games last season, French publication Telefoot claims Bayern has no intention of allowing the winger move elsewhere this summer.
Arsene Wenger is in the market for a new winger and Coman would have been a great signing but the 21 year old’s unavailability means we will have to focus on other targets.
The boss is currently working on a deal to sign Coman’s compatriot Thomas Lemar but has been unsuccessful due to Monaco’s reluctance to sell, however there is hope that a deal can be done in the coming weeks.
Leicester’s Riyad Mahrez is also under consideration while Ousmane Dembele was recently linked with a move to Arsenal.
All the wingers we are being linked with are top quality, so it is normal to have this difficulty when trying to sign them. Hopefully, we have enough up our sleeves to pull off one of these deals as strengthening our attack has become imperative.
