Alexis Sanchez could return to the Gunner’s squad on Sunday against Stoke City, according to Wenger.
The Gunners have been without the 27 year old since November after he sustained a hamstring injury against Norwich City.
The 27 year old was originally thought to return in December but suffered a set back and Wenger has confirmed the Chilean international is set to return against Stoke City on Sunday.
Speaking to the press, the Gunners boss said:
“I will be cautious now. There is an opportunity that he will be in the squad for Sunday,”
“He will have a definite test on Saturday. Friday and Saturday will be two important days for him.
“It is not impossible that he will be involved.”
The news will serve as a major boost to the Gunners who currently top the table. Wenger knows having his squad fully fit would be crucial in the second half of the season as he aims to win the Premier League title for the first time since 2005.
The winger has been training for almost two weeks as Wenger is cautious of throwing his star man into the frame of action in order not to lose him again.
