Arsene Wenger is reportedly keen on bolstering his side in the January transfer window for the second half of the 2015/2016 season.
Manchester United are set to beat Arsenal to the signature of Paris Saint Germain midfielder Adrien Rabiot, according to reports.
The Gunners have been linked with a move to sign the French international after he revealed to PSG president that he’d be interested in a move away from the club this month. The player’s desire to play regular football and the Gunner’s midfield crisis saw the North London club linked with the 20 year old midfielder.
According to Spanish publications Don Balon via Ibtimes, Manchester United are prepared to sign the PSG midfielder this month and the Red Devils could stump up to £21m for the midfielder.
It is claimed that PSG values the midfielder for about £21m and while the Gunners are not willing to meet the French club’s valuation for the midfielder, Louis Van Gaal’s men are more than willing to do so.
The midfielder’s mother and agent Veronique Rabiot has reportedly held talks with the Gunners over a potential move to the Emirates but with Manchester United now very much in the picture, the Gunners would have to turn their attentions to other target.
The report also claims Manchester United are confident of signing the midfielder ahead of the Gunners and the club has also convinced the player that he’d be better of moving to Old Trafford.
Rabiot has played 65 games for the French club since making his debut in 2012 and has scored six goals.
