Arsene Wenger is reportedly keen on bolstering his side in the January transfer window for the second half of the 2015/2016 season.
Hull City manager Steve Bruce has declared his wish to keep on loan Arsenal midfielder Isaac Hayden beyond January. The midfielder has failed to break into the first team and was expected to return to the Emirates due to lack of playing time before heading to another club on loan.
The Mail understands that the 20-year-old was to be recalled by the Gunners ahead of another loan move to Fulham, but that proposed switch has since been shelved following the Cottagers’ appointment of new boss Slavisa Jokanovic.
Hayden has made just 11 appearances for the tigers thus far and grabbed his first goal of the campaign in the 6-0 trashing of Chalton Atletic last Saturday.
Tigers manager Bruce remains adamant he wants the youngster to stay, speaking last week he revealed he was “sad and disappointed” to see Hayden recalled. Speaking after his side’s victory over QPR on new year day, he added “It’s not done and dusted with Isaac. A move for him stuttered and has fallen through at the moment. “He wants to play, the kid, and I can understand that. It’s frustrating for him because he wanted to come and play. That opportunity hasn’t progressed and as far as we’re concerned he stays with us.
“We’ve got an agreement with Arsenal that if a club can guarantee him first-team football then the boy wants to play.”
