Arsenal have been handed a boost in their hunt for ace midfielder Max Meyer after the Germany midfielder turned down a new deal with the German club.

The player has been an integral member of Domenico Tedesco’s team this campaign. The 22-year-old has been used as a midfield anchor and has excelled in his new position.

The Germany international’s current contract with the Bundesliga giants ends in the summer, and the likes of Arsenal, Liverpool and even Barcelona are now circling. All have sent officials out to run the rule over the ace.

The German star, who has been with apart of the set up at Schalke for nine seasons, has reportedly turned down a £5million-a-year deal at the Veltins Arena.

The footballer could be Arsenal’s plan b preferably of teammate Leon Goretzka. The 23-year-old seems to be Bayern Munich bound at the end of the campaign for a free transfer.
