The express are reporting Arsenal could announce a deal for Max Allgeri very soon after the Italian manager dropped a massive hint that he is learning English as speculation continues to surround his future in Italy.

The Italian won his fourth Serie A title over the weekend, as Juventus made it seven Scudettos on the spin by drawing 0-0 against Roma.

Since Arsene Wenger’s shock exit announcement, speculation has been rife that Allegri would be the man to take over at Arsenal this summer.

But on Sunday evening, the 50-year-old announced he was prepared to stay at the Turin outfit next season unless the club decided to sack him.

However, in an interview in Rome later in the evening, the Juventus boss added fuel to the fire by admitting he has been practicing English.

“How is my English?” he said in an interview with beINSports USA.

“It has improved a lot.”

Allegri attempted to explain why he was suddenly speaking in English, saying: “Because I want to speak in a better way with my players that speak English.”

The majority of Juventus’ squad hails from Italy or South America.

And only two of Allegri’s players have spent any part of their careers in England – Juan Cuadrado and Wojciech Szczesny.

Allegri is set to sit down with Juventus chiefs in the coming weeks and discuss his long-term future at the club.

“It’s not an issue of decisions on the future, it’s about planning what the future of Juventus will be, because once we’ve finished celebrating, we have to sit around a table with clear heads,” he added.

“When the next season begins, we all start from zero points and must continue proving we are competitive.”

Wenger took charge of his last game away at Huddersfield on Sunday but Mikel Arteta has emerged as the favourite to take over with Allegri seemingly committed to staying in Italy.
