Swansea midfielder Jack Cork has talked up the influence of Arsenal fans in his sides 2-1 victory against Arsenal on Wednesday, via the Daily Express.

Arsenal had been expected to close in on league leaders Leicester City who dropped points on Tuesday night but Wenger’s troops failed to capitalize on the situation as they succumbed to a 2-1 defeat.

Prior to Wednesday’s game, Wenger had stressed the need for the fans to stay together with the team as we enter into the closing stages of the season but Cork revealed that the Swans noticed an unrest amongst the Arsenal fans and were urged during the half time team talk to exploit the unrest amongst Arsenal fans in the stadium.

Cork added further that the power in the crowd was strong enough to negate the quality of Arsenal players on the pitch.

“It’s hard to explain how we went along,” said Cork.

“We had a game plan and we stuck to it. Everyone worked hard. We went 1-0 down but no-one gave up and we showed great commitment. We managed to score from a set piece as well which we’ve been struggling at too.

“Wayne took his goal well and we fought to the end and it was a big boost.

“Then at half-time Alan just said ‘We have a good opportunity at 1-1′. He said he could sense the crowd were turning on them and everyone has big expectation to do well.

“You could sense it, if we could get on top of them we could nick it. We’ve had a pattern at the Emirates and managed to do it again.”

“They had Alexis Sanchez, Mesut Ozil, Olivier Giroud and Aaron Ramsey, such good quality.”

“But when the crowd does turn on you it makes it hard to play. We’ve had it at certain times this season when we weren’t doing too well and it does affect your confidence at times. You could sense something was a little bit different.”
