Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger has hinted that there will be no new faces at the Emirates this month again, via the Daily Star.
The Gunners recently completed the signing of Mohamed Elneny from Basel. According to several reports, the Gunners were also interested in signing a centre forward the end of the window but Wenger has squashed such rumours after claiming he wouldn’t find a better player in the market than Danny Welbeck.
The Gunners currently have more than five first team players out injured and it was thought the French boss will use the winter transfer window to fill the gaping hole in his squad as he hopes to guide the Gunners to its first premier league trophy since 2004 but according to the Daily Star the Gunners boss ruled out influx of players this month. He said:
“Ideally personally I would prefer to have the players back from injury like [Danny] Welbeck, who has been out since April last year and is now two-three weeks away. I am confident I would not buy a better player. If you give me the choice I would prefer to have my injured players back and go into the rest of the season with everyone available.”
Arsenal currently top the Premier league table on goal difference an the Gunner’s boss will be hoping not to alter the balance and chemistry of his team.
