Atletico Madrid are resigned to losing star forward Antoine Griezmann this summer with Manchester United expecting blow rivals such as Arsenal away to complete a world record £100million deal for the Frenchman, according to reports.
Jose Mourinho is keen on signing the France international this summer and intimated last week that he will sell during the January window in order to fund summer moves.
Griezmann, 25, has spoken about his admiration for Manchester United in the past and he’s believed to be keen on a move to the Threatre of Dreams.
According to the Independent, Atletico are resigned to losing the forward and expect him to join United in a world record deal that could surpass the £100m mark.
Griezmann’s scored 13 goals in 29 appearances for Diego Simeone’s side this term but he’s reacted angrily to talk about his future.
The former Real Sociedad forward hit out at reporters for asking him about a move away from the Vicente Calderon and said now is not the time to speak about his decision.
‘Don’t hit me with these questions about my future because for players like Cristiano [Ronaldo], [Leo] Messi or [Gareth] Bale nobody asks them what is going to happen next year or where they are going to play,’ said Griezmann.
‘I’m happy and enjoying myself at Atletico, don’t ask me about my future anymore.’
