Arsene Wenger is reportedly keen on bolstering his side in the January transfer window for the second half of the 2015/2016 season.
So far, its been a disappointing week for the Arsenal faithful and just when we thought it couldn’t get any worse, it unfortunately did. Firstly, the position at summit of the Premier League table was relinquished following the defeat to Chelsea, then came Aston Villa refusing to meet the asking price for want away Frenchman Mathieu Debuchy. Now the Gunners have had a bid of their own rejected.
With Injuries to Francis Coquelin, Mikel Arteta, Santi Cazorla and Jack Wilshere, it is no surprise Wenger is keen to bolster the middle of the park. Despite the arrival of Mohamamed Elneny earlier this month, it is believed that more bodies are needed to maintain the needed strength in depth heading into the second half of the season. Napoli however have rejected the Gunners offer for Brazilian midfielder Jorginho.
Italian website Tuttomercatoweb via The Express claim Arsene Wenger has tabled an offer for the Brazilian with a view to completing a deal before the January transfer window slams shut but the offer has been rejected by the Serie A leaders.
Jorginho who has been previously linked with a move to the Emirates in the past recently signed a two year contract extension in December tying him to the club till 2020. Only a hefty bid will convince Napoli to sell the player.
