Arsene Wenger is reportedly keen on bolstering his side in the January transfer window for the second half of the 2015/2016 season.
Arsenal are reportedly set to open talks with Costa Rican international, Joel Campbell over an improved contract, according to reports. The Gunners boss has been impressed with the youngsters performance since been given the opportunity to represent Arsenal in the first team when injuries ruled out Theo Walcott and Alex Oxlade Chamberlain.
Campbell signed a new deal with the Gunners about a year ago which would keep him at the Emirates till 2018 but he would now be rewarded with a pay rise as a member of the first team at Arsenal. Arsene Wenger is reportedly keen to keep Campbell at Arsenal; the talented youngster has made 17 appearances for the Gunners this season and has scored twice and he is now preferred to Alex Oxlade Chamberlin who is linked with a move away in the summer to Chelsea due to lack of regular playing time at the Emirates.
Campbell is now seen as a started after injuries to Chamberlain and the absence of many key first team players. The 23 year old has previously gone out on loan to the French league with Lorient, Real Betis in the Spanish League, Olympiacos in the Greek league and Spanish side Villarreal last season since moving to Arsenal in 2011.
His patience has finally paid off for him and he would be looking to integrate himself further into the first team reckoning.
