Arsenal have completed the signing of Liverpool ladies England midfield star Fara Williams according to the club official website.
The 31-year-old England international is the most capped female international, after beating Rachel Yankey’s 129 appearances in 2014 and has gone on to make 148 appearances scoring 40 goals.
Fara is known for her goal scoring and free kick prowess, and comes with a lot of experience, having turned out for Charlton, Chelsea, Everton and Liverpool winning a number of club titles and individual awards, including PFA Players Player of the year and PFA International player of the year.
The Arsenal ladies coach Pedro Martinez losa is delighted with the transfer, saying “We are delighted to welcome Fara to the club. She is a great competitor and a fantastic character too.
“She is a player with huge experience at club and international level, and her reading and understanding of games is fantastic. She is an exciting addition to the squad and I look forward to working with her as we begin preparations for the 2016 season.”
