Arsenal have confirmed that England international player, Fara Williams has joined the Gunners ladies from FA Women’s super League 1 rivals Liverpool.
Williams is currently the most capped woman player in England with 149 appearances and she played a key role in England women’s brave run to the Bronze medal in the Women’s world cup where she scored three goals including the extra time goal that sealed the bronze medal against Germany.
Arsenal ladies manager Pedro Martinez Losa said: ‘’ we are delighted to welcome Fara to the club; she is a great competitor and a fantastic character too. She is a player with huge experience at club and international level, and her reading and understanding of the game is fantastic. She is an exciting addition to the squad and I look forward to working with her as we begin preparation for the 2016 season.’’
According to Skysports, William has played for Chelsea, Charlton and Everton football clubs in the past and has won a host of personal accolades during her 14 year career in the game to date, including two league titles and one Women’s FA Cup. She is viewed as a valuable addition to the Arsenal ladies team as they get set for the new season.
