David Ospina is planning to hold talks with Arsene Wenger to clarify his long term future at Arsenal.

Since the arrival of Petr Cech in 2015, Ospina has had to settle for a place on the bench. Keeping a quality goalie like the Colombian was never going to be an easy task and Wenger had to share goalkeeping duties between the duo.

Ospina has been given the mandate to start for Arsenal in the Champions League and FA cup matches this season and has given a good account of himself.

With Arsenal’s position in the knockout stages of the Champions League all but guaranteed, Ospina is set for more game time in the second half of this season and will not consider leaving in January.

However, the Mirror suggests all that could change next summer.

They claim the goalkeeper will hold talks with Arsene Wenger at the end of the season and will reassess his future afterwards.

Ospina has done a good job for us since he joined in 2014 and has proven to be a capable back up to Cech.

The goalie knows with his kind of quality, he will be playing week in week out in other clubs and no one can really blame him if he wants to play more.

He recently admitted he is happy here and i hope he will continue to be even beyond this season as the importance of having two world class goalkeeper in the squad cannot be overstated.

Should he decide to leave, I’m very sure he won’t be short of offers but I reckon he’d be better off with us.
