Arsenal midfielder Mesut Ozil has hailed the impact of Shkodran Mustafi and Granit Xhaka at the club, according to the Metro.
The duo were summer arrivals at the club and have already become infuential players despite being new to the club.
Mustafi has been ever present in Arsenal’s defense since he completed a £35m switch to the Emirates while Xhaka has been impressive every time he stepped on the pitch.
Ozil believes the pair have settled down quickly at the club and they have added “positive energy” to the squad.
‘They’ve been fully integrated from the first day. They are guys who just get on with everyone and bring positive energy to the team,’ Ozil said.
Ozil also revealed how he convinced Mustafi to choose Arsenal. The defender asked the midfielder how things work at Arsenal prior to the move and the playmaker is happy he was there to assist his fellow country man.
‘I’ve known Shkodran from the German national team and we spoke a lot about this club before his transfer,’ Ozil explained.
‘He had a few questions for me, about the team, the manager and the city. We spoke about things and I was pleased that he eventually decided to move here.’
Mustafi and Xhaka cost the club a combined fee of about £70m and the good news is that they have started showing it was money well spent.
Ozil, Mustafi and Xhaka played huge roles in the club’s 3-0 win against Chelsea on Saturday. while the former two started from the first minute, Xhaka came in as a substitute for Coquelin who suffered a knee injury.
