Cristiano Ronaldo has urged Real Madrid to join the race to sign Arsenal target Andre Silva, according to reports.

The Porto striker has been in fine form this season and has reportedly impressed Arsenal scouts who have watched him on several occasions.

Following the positive reports received about the 21 year old from the scouting department, Wenger has made him one of his top targets this summer and is lining up a big money move for his services.

However, we may now  face serious competition for his services.

Italian newspaper Sport Mediaset via gunnersphere.com now claim Real Madrid could join the race to sign the striker.

The report claims Ronaldo is urging his club to make a move for the striker who is regarded as one of Portugal’s best talents.

Arsenal have earmarked Silva as a replacement for Alexis Sanchez, who could leave the Emirates this summer and Zidane now sees the Portuguese as the right person to add more fire power to his squad.

It is believed Madrid will now have the upper hand in the race to sign Silva because of his relationship with Ronaldo.

With the way things are going, Silva could be one of the most sought after footballers in the summer transfer window especially if he continues his fine perfromances.

And that will be detrimental to Arsenal’s chances of signing him because we tend to avoid entering into a bidding war to sign players.

Silva has scored 25 goals for both club and country this season and has obviously done enough to warrant this calibre of clubs chasing him.
