Reports Claim In-form Arsenal Star Has Agreed A Deal In Principle To Join La Liga Champions.

Santi Cazorla may be playing out a happy farewell form for Arsenal as reports have it he has already agreed to return to the La Liga next season to current Champions, Atletico Madrid.

The Daily Star revealed that a Spanish radio station, Cadena Cope, disclosed this with a claim that Santi has given them his word that he will be leaving Arsenal to join them when the window opens in July. It has been in the mill for a while that a host of Spanish clubs have been looking to sign the 30-year old especially since he has recaptured his very beautiful performances this season, and Xavi has even been very public about wanting to have both he and Manchester City’s David Silva at Barcelona.

This will come as a source of worry for gooners as the former Malaga star has exerted more influence in the Arsenal team of late. After much of the early season fantasy had been about Alexis Sanchez, the turn of the New Year has seen the dynamic ambidextrous Cazorla re-establish himself as the real gem of Arsene Wenger’s side, drawing the attraction of not just Arsenal fans but pundits and even opposition players and managers.

Middlesbrough gaffer, Aitor Karanka has hailed him as one of the best technically gifted players in the world, with similar acclaim coming from striker Lee Tomlin who could not disguise his awe of being blown away during the 53 minutes he spent on the pitch trying to keep up with the little magician.

While Wenger has managed to avoid any transfer sagas for two seasons now, no one can predict what will happen in the coming summer. Santi always looks like one who has been enjoying himself at Arsenal ever since he arrived but there has been some opinion that the failure to land as many trophies as he would have wanted could see him interested in a move elsewhere. There is genuine reason to believe Atletico would be of interest to him too as it is a club that has proven capable in challenging Barcelona and Real Madrid for the La Liga.
