There is a huge disappointment from the fans of Arsenal and concerned pundits over Arsenal’s business in the transfer window. While the number of players signed by the club is far less that the number sold, Arsenal Chief executive Ivan Gazisdis claims that Arsenal have had a successful transfer window.
Sead Kolasinac who has been on our radar since the winter transfer window joined on a free transfer. He was joined by Alexandre Lacazette in a club record fee of £52million but Lacazette move to Arsenal was mainly due to the transfer ban handed to Atletico Madrid, we understand that the Rojiblancos were the club he desired most.
There were rife speculations that Arsenal would add another players after Lacazette was signed on but the frugal Arsene Wenger did not deem it fit to improve his squad. Instead, players like Gabriel Paulista, Alex Chamberlain and Lucas Perez were ousted and we realise they had a profit of £30m.
Most of the fans are pained and even the club’s legends have questioned the insensitivity of the board, which shows they have no ambition than to fatten their pockets. Arsenal have lost two games on a trot but Gazidis claims they can still win the title.
“Everything is coloured by results,” he said in an email sent to staff, and subsequently leaked to the press. “A positive performance at Liverpool would have coloured this transfer window very differently.
“The manager and players know that the performance at Anfield was not good enough and they will be focused to put that right after the international break.
“We have had a poor start to the season but have the quality to turn it around and turn around performances and compete for the title. It is time to get back to what it is all about, the football.”
According various reports, He went further with claims that the depth and quality of the squad have been improved. He wrote: “At the end of the window, reviewing all activity, we have once again improved the depth and quality of the squad.”
Sanchez wanted out of the club but he claims Sanchez keeping them was a statement on their ambition.
” …a clear statement of our ambitions and should help refute suggestions we are just about the money. That is simply nonsense.
“At the end of the window, reviewing all activity, we have once again improved the quality and depth of our squad.”
