Arsenal defender Shkodran Mustafi thought he had given his team the lead in the 75th minute of the London derby when his close-range header went past Chelsea goalie Thibaut Courtois.

An Arsenal faithful who stood up in celebration of the defender’s disallowed goal suffered a double frustration after his jubilation led to him being sent out of Stamford Bridge.

Arsenal defender Shkodran Mustafi thought he had given his team the lead in the 75th minute of the London derby when his close-range header went past Chelsea goalie Thibaut Courtois.

The Germany international defender wheeled away celebrating and was joined by an Arsenal fan, who jumped over the perimeter barriers.

Mustafi and the fan later realized the goal had been ruled offside, however, when they saw the linesman’s flag raised. The Arsenal supporter was then bundled out of the Stadium by stewards.

The game’s other flashpoint saw central defender David Luiz red-carded for a rather rash challenge on Sead Kolasinac, but manager Antonio Conte feels the Brazil international was fouled before the tackle on Kolasinac.

Chelsea Centre-half David Luiz was red carded late on for a poor tackle on Arsenal’s Kolasinac which saw both technical areas rise to their feet.
