The Daily Express claim the future of other Arsenal players have been thrown into doubt by Mesut Ozil and Alexis Sanchez’s demands.
Arsenal have been in talks with Ozil and Sanchez to extend their contracts but are yet to reach an agreement with the players.
The duo are not the only players whose contract are coming to an end with the likes of Jack Wilshere, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and Kieran Gibbs all having less than two years left in the current deals.
But the report claims the future of Sanchez and Ozil could have a negative effect on the other players.
According to the Daily Mail, Wilshere, Chamberlain and Gibbs are yet to be approached by the club with the future of Sanchez and Ozil taking priority.
Both players want new deals worth more than £200,000 weekly which will smash the club’s wage structure.
Arsenal are more than willing to offer the star duo an increase to their current deals but cannot afford to pay what they are demanding. The players have refused to reduce their demands and that has placed the club in a tight position.
The report claims their demand is now affecting contract talks with other players because the club can’t afford to pay them what they want and then offer the others new contracts also.
We all know Arsenal work with a strict wage budget and that will have to change if we want to keep our star duo.
As it stands, the other players will have to remain patient as talks continues with Ozil and Sanchez. Considering the huge money available to Premier League clubs, I least expected we will be in this kind of position.Follow oohtobeagooner on Facebook and Twitter for more latest Arsenal transfer news, injury news, team news and rumours.
