Arsene Wenger is reportedly keen on bolstering his side in the January transfer window for the second half of the 2015/2016 season.
Arsenal are set to complete the signing of FC Basel defensive midfielder, Mohamed Elneny in the January transfer window.
The Gunners are in need of defensive cover and the Egyptian youngster has been identified as the ideal addition the squad need to bolster their chances of lifting the Premier league title.
But new reports making the rounds claim Wenger is set to make Elneny the only new addition to the Gunners squad as he hopes that the injured players would return to the fold soon.
Arsenal only signed Petr Cech from Chelsea last summer with no outfield player joining the team. Injuries to key first team players; especially in the midfield has forced Wenger to venture into the market in search of cover.
The Gunners have been linked to Southampton midfielder Victor Wanyama, Lars Bender of Bayer Leverkusen, Reuben Neves of Porto and William Carvalho of Sporting Lisbon as midfield covering for the injured Francis Coquelin.
With the deal for Elneny yet to be made official, it is looking likely that Wenger would indeed see through the deal for the Basel midfielder then put his cheque book back in his pocket; to wait for his injured players to return from injury.
