Arsene Wenger is reportedly keen on bolstering his side in the January transfer window for the second half of the 2015/2016 season.
Walsall’s left back Rico Henry is believed to be interesting Arsenal. The Gunners are monitoring the tremendous progress made by the 18-year-old who has been a regular for the League One side this term.
Ladbrokes reports that Arsenal scouts were present in Coventry on Tuesday night and watched the youngster in action as his team played out a one all draw.
The defender has receiving glowing reports for his impressive performances since his promotion to the first team at the start of last season.
The Walsall website describes the England under 19 international as: “A left-back who likes to get forward at every opportunity, he plays with a maturity and confidence beyond his tender years and is one very much for the future.”
While his former boss Dean Smith told BBC Sport: “He’s got a good engine and pace, he can get up and down the pitch and he’s got goals already this season which is very good for a left-back.”
Henry was also crowned with the Football League’s Young Player of the Month award in September.
Though first choice left back Nacho Monreal has been very impressive for the Gunners thus far, Wenger is thought to be scouting Henry as the Spaniard turns 30 next month.
