Reports are claiming Juventus are confident of reaching a pre-contract agreement with Santi Cazorla in January.
The Spaniard is in the final year of his contract at Arsenal and he hasn’t been offered a new deal. There is no idea about our plans for the midfielder yet and many clubs have been encouraged to make their move for him.
Amongst the clubs interested in Cazorla are Atletico Madrid, Valencia, Sevilla and Juventus but it is the Old Ladies who are confident of signing the midfielder.
According to Calcio Mercato via the Daily Cannon, Juventus want to sign Cazorla in January and plans are already well underway to reach an agreement with the midfielder.
The midfielder would be free to enter into talks with other clubs in January as by then he would have six months left in his contract. FIFA rule allows a player who has six months or less left in his contract to agree a pre-contract with other clubs and Juventus are keen to take advantage of that.
The midfielder hasn’t ruled out a move away but has stated his preference will be to sign a new contract at Arsenal.
However, I can’t say why we haven’t offered Cazorla a new deal yet considering he is one of the best players in our squad but I am confident his future would be resolved soon.
Santi is currently out with an Achilles injury and it is expected that talks over a new deal will be initiated when he returns.
