Arsenal are weighing up a summer move for Besiktas midfielder Oguzhan Ozyakup, according to reports.
The Gunners are reportedly keen on strengthening its midfield position this summer and a number of midfielders has been linked with a move to the Emirates in recent weeks.
Ozyakup has been in fine form this season, scoring three goals and assisting seven already, helping his team top the Turkish Super Lig table.
His form has apparently caught the attention of Arsenal who are now considering a summer move for the 24 year old.
It may interest you to know that Ozyakup began his career at Arsenal, spending four years of his youth career at Arsenal’s academy but never made a first team appearance for the club before he was sold to Besiktas for a fee of €500,000 in 2012.
He has gone on to become a first team regular for the Turkish giants and is now back on Arsenal’s radar.
According to Bleacher Sports via The Daily Star, Arsenal scout Jurgen Kost has been asked to compile a complete dossier on the midfielder.
Kost was even present at Besiktas Europa League game against Olympiakos to watch the midfielder.
It is believed we are now seriously considering re-signing Ozyakup this summer.
Obviously, we need to strengthen our midfield if we want to do better next season and if bringing back Ozyakup will improve us, then let’s do it.
Chelsea did same with Nemanja Matic and are enjoying the benefits, I see no reason why we shouldn’t.
