Arsenal star Jack Wilshere says now is not the time to think about signing a new deal at Arsenal.

The midfielder who joined Bournemouth on a season long loan in August wants to focus on his spell at the Dean Court and not his future at the Emirates.

His latest comments will further plunge his future at Arsenal in doubt after he recently claimed he doesn’t know if he would return to the club when his loan spell at Bournemouth expires.

He has now put further doubt on his return by claiming he isn’t thinking of his future at Arsenal despite having less than two years left in his contract.

This will come as a big blow to Wenger who recently stated the club would try to initiate talks over a new deal with Wilshere in December. We would now have to wait until next summer at least because the player doesn’t want to talk about a new contract while at Bournemouth.

“I don’t want to think about that at the moment because I want to go back having had a good season,” Wilshere told Sky Sports about signing a new contract at Arsenal.

“Not just being fit, but I want to have an effect on the team.

“I want to improve as a player and go back at the end of May and they can say he’s a better player than when he left in September.

“I love Arsenal. I love the fans. The manager has been great to me and been a big part of my life from when I was 10 years old.

“I’ve got good friends there, players, the staff and people will laugh, but the physios too. I’ve become close with them.

“So I don’t want to say I’m never going to go back there but at the same time I’m not really thinking about that.

“My focus is helping Bournemouth climb the table and improving myself as a player.”

By next summer Wilshere will have just one year left in his Arsenal contract and that would place us in a delicate position in contract negotiations because the player would have the upper hands during talks.

Although, as much as I am confident the midfielder will sign a contract extension with us, I can’t rule out the possibility of him leaving if big clubs show interests in signing him.
