In what could be considered a shocking development, Catalan newspaper, Sport, has put out a special feature to complain about Barcelona’s loss of Hector Bellerin to Arsenal.
Bellerin’s rise to prominence at Arsenal has come at the time the Spanish giants desperately seek replacement at right-back for Dani Alves, who has been heavily linked with a move to the Premier League to Manchester United in the summer.
This situation has led to the outcry of another popular Spanish newspaper outlet Mundo Deportivo, whose journalist – Josep Miguella, per Sportwitness explained that “each time he sees Bellerin excel for Arsenal he sheds symbolic tears at the loss for Barcelona” and wished the club had done more to hold on to the player.
The 20-year-old is not the first raw talent Arsenal has captured from Barcelona’s prestigious La Masia academy in recent years, with another significant capture being Cesc Fabregas, whom Arsenal stole at a much younger age to Bellerin.
Bellerin’s exceptional performance this season has seen him linked to various clubs across Europe, with his home town club – Barcelona reportedly leading the race for his signature.
