Alexis Sanchez has chosen to join Manchester City this summer, according to reports in Chile.
The Chilean is being linked with a move away from the Emirates. It’s being claimed that the Chilean has become frustrated with Arsenal’s failure to challenge for title and will not renew his contract at the Emirates.
Several attempts by the club to get him to commit his future has been fruitless but Wenger still publicly insists he will not be sold.
That hasn’t stopped Bayern Munich, Manchester City and Chelsea from declaring their interest in the forward.
Bayern Munich were thought to be leading the race to sign the Chilean but reports in Chile claim the player has other plans.
According to The Mirror, Sanchez has now finalised a move to Manchester City.
After Chile’s 1-1 draw with Russia, respected Chilean football journalist Fernando Solabarrieta revealed that the player is now set to join Guardiola at the Etihad.
Should this be true, Manchester City will now hope to convince Arsenal to sell the player to them but that would be difficult because Wenger has insisted he wont sell to to a rival club.
The boss has already warned that Alexis may have to run down the length of his career instead of selling him to a rival this summer.
It remains to be seen if Wenger can stand by these words, if he does, it will send a signal to rival clubs that the days when they can come poach our top players are over. I guess that’s what every Gooner wants.
Gooners should Wenger look for a replacement and let Alexis leave this summer?
