Arsenal are set to allow Ismaël Bennacer leave the club on loan in the January transfer window, according to reports.
The winter transfer window is barely a month from now and Wenger is already taking a look at the club’s youngsters who would benefit from leaving the club on loan to gain regular football.
Recently, reports emerged that we were looking to send Chuba Akpom out on loan and it seems Bennacer would be joining the striker in leaving the Emirates.
Bennacer, 18, is an attacking midfielder by trade and is highly rated by those at Arsenal. It is believed Wenger wants to see the youngster develop properly and is prepared to allow him leaving the Emirates on a temporary basis.
According to reports in Bennacer’s homeland, Algeria via Sportslens.com, Guingamp, Le Havre and Lorient are ‘very interested’ in the midfielder.
The reports also claim Bennacer believes he is ready to play first team football and is keen to join any of the above named clubs.
There is so much competition for midfield places in Wenger’s first team which would limit Bennacer’s chances of playing for Arsenal’s first team. So his best chance of playing regular football would be to leave on loan.
However, this is a decision that both the player and Arsenal need to make carefully as sending the player to a club where he wouldn’t get to play regularly could have a negative effect in his confidence and development.
Bennacer has become a key player for our reserves team since he joined from French club Arles-Avignon in 2015.
