Paris Saint Germain are willing to pay more than £40m for Alexis Sanchez, but Arsenal are yet to receive any bid for the winger, according to reports.
Reports are claiming Sanchez wants to leave Arsenal this summer despite Wenger publicly insisting he is positive about the striker remaining at Arsenal.
French media on Tuesday claimed PSG are closing in on the Chilean, having lodged a £44.7m bid but Sky sources claim otherwise.
According to Sky Sports, Arsenal are yet to receive an official offer from PSG for Sanchez which will come as good news to Gooners – who are hoping the club can persuade the Chilean to stay and fight for the club.
Although, the French club remain keen on signing the Chilean and are willing to pay more than £40m in transfer fee and £250,000 weekly wages to lure him away from the Emirates.
Arsenal are expected to play tough eeven if PSG comes up with such a huge bid as Wenger believes we don’t have any reason to sell. Even if Sanchez refuses to sign a new contract, the manager believes we can cope financially if he leaves for nothing next year.
Manchester City are also interested in Sanchez and they are believed to be his preferred destination but Wenger won’t even entertain a bid from a rival club.
With Sanchez due to return from holiday in the next few days, news about his future is expected to be on the front pages of every news paper but hopefully this will not affect our preparations for next season.
