Arsene Wenger may consider selling Alexis Sanchez if he signs Thomas Lemar, according to Sky Sports via Metro.
Sanchez future has been one of Arsenal’s most discussed topics this summer, as he continues to fuel rumors of an exit.
The Chilean has one year left in his contract and is yet to commit his future to the club. Reports claim he is looking for an exit and a reunion with Pep Guardiola at Manchester City is said to be his priority but Wenger would not sanction a move to a rival club.
This has reportedly placed PSG as front runners for the forward’s signature, although Wenger has publicly indicated Sanchez isn’t for sale, there is a feeling he might be allowed to join a club abroad at worst case scenario.
However, the Sky Sports are now claiming Wenger has tied his decision on Sanchez to his pursuit of Lemar.
Arsenal have been trying to secure a deal for Lemar since the beginning of the transfer window but Monaco are reluctant to sell.
The French giants have already rejected two bids from the Gunners but that hasn’t deterred Wenger who is determined to push for the playmaker.
And should he be successful, he could allow Sanchez leave this summer rather than lose him for nothing next year.
Sanchez is expected to hold a meeting with Wenger on Monday where his future will be resolved and should the player insist on leaving, Wenger is expected to step up his interest in Lemar who would soften the blow of losing the Chilean.
Although Lemar won’t be a perfect replacement for Sanchez, he will go a long way in pacifying angry Gooners
