Sources Claim Arsenal Are Prepared To Meet Release Clause Of 2nd January Signing

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger disclosed prior to the opening of the the January transfer window that he would be ‘busy’ during the window due to injuries suffered by several first team players. It quickly became common knowledge as several reports claimed that the Frenchman man was looking to bring in a midfielder as well as a forward.

With the deal for Mohamamed Elneny all but confirmed, the Gunners faithful have been keen on news of a forward who they believed should follow suit.

Spanish source Mundo Deportivo via the Metro reports Celta Vigo striker Nolito could be the mystery forward and claims Arsenal are more than willing to activate Nolito’s release clause of £13.4million.

Nolito, 29, who has been in fantastic form for Celta this season has scored a respectable eight goals in his eighteen appearances thus far this campaign helping his side to a modest 5th place in la Liga and earning  Spanish call ups in the process.

The Gunners would have to act swiftly to land the striker as Goal understands that la Liga and World champions Barcelona retain an interest in resigning the player they sold to Benifica in 2011.
