Arsenal winter signing, Gabriel says that the individual quality of his teammates as well as the “top-quality” training facilities available at their disposal in the club has helped shape an excellent squad.
Gabriel who joined the Gunners from Spanish side Villarreal in January for a fee of around £11.3 million after been granted a work permit on 26th of January, has heaped praise on the level at which his teammates are currently playing in recent weeks.
“Every player knows his quality, we have top-quality training facilities and an excellent team,” the defender told Arsenal.com.
“If you look at our individual qualities we make a great team. That’s why we are playing well especially now in the last weeks of the season.”
The 24-year-old defender also hailed the English Premier League, insisting that the strength, competition and equality of the League played a major role in his decision to move to England.
“[The strength of the league is] one of the reasons why I wanted to play here. It’s a tight competition with no weak teams. Clubs at the bottom of the table compete at the same level with the leaders.”
“The Premier League is a tough competition. If you lose a game, the team below you in the table will get closer. We are aware of the difficulties, but we are on the right path.”
The former Vitoria man feels his current team is right on track among England’s top-flight.
Gabriel made his debut for Arsenal in February, playing the entirety of a 2–0 home win over Middlesbrough in the fifth round of the FA Cup and made his Premier League debut six days later, coming on for Alexis Sánchez in the final minute of a 2–1 win away to Crystal Palace.
