Bellerin started his career at Barcelona before joining Arsenal as a youngster, and has come on leaps and bounds at the Emirates Stadium since being handed a first-team breakthrough by Arsene Wenger in 2014/15.

The 22-year-old has since insisted he remains loyal to the Gunners boss for giving him his big break, and only recently signed a new long-term contract keeping him at the club until 2023.

However, his quotes this week caused some alarm among Arsenal’s supporters as he hinted at an interest in rejoining Barca.

‘It is very nice to hear about the interest from a club like Barca, the club I grew up with from when I was a kid,’ he told Mundo Deportivo.

‘I do not know anything at the moment. I’m an Arsenal player, but we’ll see what happens.’

Barcelona are known to be after a new right-back in this summer’s transfer market, with the likes of Chelsea’s Cesar Azpilicueta and Benfica’s Nelson Semedo also being linked with the Catalan giants.
